(Anything) and Roll

 

 

   

The "and Roll" command is an add-on to almost any other square dance move.

If the last part of that move involves body rotation the dancer will
turn 1/4 more as an individual in the same direction.

If there is no prior body rotation, do not do the roll.

Example 1:

    Right and Left Thru and Roll:

All dancers are turning left (in the Courtesy Turn),
so all dancers will individually turn 1/4 to the left.

 

 

 

   

Example 2:

    Trade By and Roll:

The center dancers' last action is a Pass Thru
(moving straight ahead), so they do not do the 1/4 turn.

The outside dancers, whose last action was Trade, were
turning so they turn 1/4 more, in this case to face each other
